New Thriller Idea

based on the feedback from our classmates, we decided to modify our opening sequence idea, to make it more artistic, and so we can focus on the injuries of our characters. We are keeping the location and the characters the same as they are stereotypical for a film of the thriller genre and so the effect stays the same

Thriller opening sequence feedback

we asked 4 students from our media class to give feedback on our presentation for our thriller opening sequence, we will take on board this feedback and modify our idea, to suit what our audience wants.

Initial Thriller idea

Based on the results from our survey, My group came up with an idea based around a kidnapping story as we discovered as that is what our audience wanted to see.

Planning for our Thriller

My group created a survey specific to the genre of thriller themes, the results will allow us to come up with an idea for our opening sequence. It will allow us to create a film to a specific target audience, and to create a similar opening to what the majority favours, which appears to be a film based on kidnapping as it builds suspense and contains drama.

Prelim

As a group Hannah, Jessica, Mia and myself worked well together as we each had designated roles when filming, producing and editing. We found it easy to set up the cameras as we had previously been taught how to do this, we were able to do it ourselves easy and efficiently

At first it was hard to observe and keep to the 180 degree rule, as my group were trying to film each scene individually, however we then realised with help from our teacher that it would be much easier to film it continually and running the camera throughout, we did this for the different camera shots needed and then edited it together using the premier pro editing programme.

Following the story bored was easy and the script was simple and it told us what camera shots to use, This made it very simple for us when deciding what shots to use. As a group we chose two boys from our class to act for us. They were very easy to work with and followed instructions well.

The premier pro editing programme was also simplistic when editing our prelim as we only used basic cutting and transitions. After playing around with it My group and I got the hang of it quickly

To improve i will focus more on observing the 180 degree rule, and i would change the scene of opening the door. Additionally, if we had more time i would use more advanced editing techniques to make the flow of the prelim more smooth.
