Music Video Feedback

What did they like about our music video:

  • They thought the lip syncing was very accurate
  • They liked the editing techniques, especially during the phone call as it shows that they're having an argument
  • They thought the narrative was very clear and they followed it throughout
  • The star image was clearly shown as our artist Dani was portrayed to be rebellious and cheeky
What they would change about our music video:
  • They thought some of the shots were too long
  • They did not understand the bit where the male actor was placed in the corner of the screen
  • In some places the lip syncing was a bit off
What we will change:
  • we will shorten some of the shots
  • We will re edit to make sure that the lip syncing is more accurate

Website Feedback

Audience Feedback:
overall our feedback was very positive as our audience agreed that the website looked very professional due to the fact that it was simple and easy to navigate around the website, Additionally, our feedback showed that everyone liked the black and pink colour scheme as it matches our dijipack and music video very well, making our work consistent

Gathering Audience Feedback

The Purpose of Audience Feedback:

  • find out what our audience wants to see and the type of music that they like
  • to help us make production decisions that will attract our target audience
  • to show how we developed a music video that is relevant to our target audience
  • to gain an understanding of the importance of audience in a music video production
Qualitative research:
  • this method of research aims to discover the opinion and preferences of the target group
  • the questions in this type of research will be open or probing questions, to get more detailed responses
  • this will allow people to be more honest, as doing it via filming people would impact there responses into being less honest
Quantitative research:
  • this method of research enables the gathering of figures and data
  • we will use this type of questioning when we want to record statistics on audience preferences
  • closed questions are used
we are using both of these methods to gain a more rounded picture of our target audience. we have undertaken research into our target audience throughout all stages of planning and production. This included the following:
- pre-production surveys (before we began, we researched into different genres and target audiences.
- interviewed our potential target audience regarding our initial ideas and how we could improve this
- got feedback from our target audience via our animatic and how we could improve it
- received feedback on our main singer/artist and whether there rehearsals were effective
- obtained feedback on our first draft
- feedback on our second draft
- feedback on our finished music video

Methods of Carrying out a survey:
  • focus groups
  • Random surveys which include survey monkey sent out to other schools
what did they like and why, what didn't they like, what did they think the narrative is about...
